How Aspire saved The Chartered Association of Business Schools nearly £100,000

The CABS is the voice of the UK’s business schools and independent management colleges. The CABS set the agenda for business and management education within the UK and increasingly, within the international environment. It develops influential policies and promotes, communicates and lobbies on these at local, regional, national and international levels, as appropriate.

The CABS had outgrown their current office and decided that they wanted to relocate after growth throughout the organisation. Aspire led this process on their behalf.

Aspire prepared a feasibility report, carrying out due diligence on several buildings. Aspire advised the CABS that 40 Queen Street in the City of London would be the best option for their requirements. Aspire negotiated on their behalf and agreed a significant rent reduction and an unconditional break clause halfway through the lease. In addition to this, Aspire negotiated a 10 month rent free period upfront and 4 further months’ rent free if the break was not exercised. Aspire also negotiated a 60% reduction on the rent deposit and a saving of 67% from the previous landlord’s dilapidation claim on their old office building.

In total, these savings added up to nearly £100,000.
